Sable Farm, Malawi
Like Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and eastern Zambia, Malawi is part of the East African Rift Valley which, geologically and as far as coffee is concerned, means ideal altitudes and volcanic soil. Coffee has been grown on Sable Farm in Southern Malawi for over 30 years. The consistently outstanding coffee coming out of Sable Farms is the result of a foundational belief: invest in the farming practices that support the farm and its people.
On an ecological level, Sable farms use drip irrigation systems, solar-powered coffee dryers and they compost the cherries after they’ve been pulped.
On a social level, Sable Farms built an on site school on their estate, alongside providing health insurance for workers and their families.
Expect the quintessential East African flavours in the final cup, with light floral notes completed by a raspberry fruitines.
