HIRING: Roastery Assistant

St Martin’s Coffee Roasters have been dedicated to sourcing, roasting and supplying the very best specialty coffee to our wholesale and home customers for nearly ten years. What started as a small 1kg roaster behind a cafe counter has turned into a burgeoning wholesale business with customers across the UK, alongside a flourishing home e-commerce market that has grown significantly in recent years. We’re a fast moving company with lofty ambitions and we’re on the lookout for a full time roastery assistant to help serve our customers old and new.

Reporting to the roastery manager, this role will be production focused and perfect for someone wanting to begin a career in the speciality coffee industry. We will provide you with a wealth of industry knowledge, allowing you to excel in your role whilst providing you with the building blocks to develop your career within the speciality coffee world, whether with St Martin's or further afield.

 

Your Role will include but is not limited to:

  • Packing roasted coffee.
  • Picking, boxing and preparing orders for dispatch.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the Production and Roastery work areas.
  • Managing stock of all externally ordered items.
  • Handling customer queries via email and phone.
  • Hosting walk-in customers looking to purchase coffee, providing product insight to help them choose the right coffee for them. 

 

About you:

  • Ideally a passion and knowledge of the speciality coffee industry, though this is not a requirement!
  • Team player: You’ll be working with the wider production, roasting and sales team to keep production and fulfilment running on track.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently execute our quality standards across all orders.
  • Self sufficient problem solver.
  • Comfortable with working to tight daily courier and weekly production deadlines
  • Organised, with the ability to manage weekly stock control tasks.
  • Strong IT literacy
  • Production or warehouse fulfilment experience
  • Have evidence of the right to work in the UK
  • Full UK Driving license is desirable but not required.
  • Please note: Regular heavy lifting is involved in this role.

Competitive depending on skills and experience

Nature of contract

Permanent and full-time.

From our location in Great Glen, Leicester.
